We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices. This app is designed with privacy in mind and collects minimal information necessary for functionality.

1.2 Information Automatically Collected

When you complete a quiz, the following information is automatically collected and stored on our servers:

  • Quiz Results: Your score, number of questions answered, time taken, and game mode
  • Leaderboard Data: Your display name, nationality, and quiz results for leaderboard purposes
  • Usage Data: Date and timestamp of quiz completion

Note: We do not collect:

1.3 Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our app. This service may collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, session duration, and general geographic location (country level). This data is aggregated and anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual users.

1.4 Advertising Data (when ads are shown)

If the app shows advertisements, we use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect or use data (such as advertising ID, device type, or general location) to show you relevant ads. In the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads; you can accept or reject personalised ads in the consent message. You can also manage ad preferences in your device settings.

We do not control the data collected by AdMob; Google’s privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the quiz functionality
  • To display leaderboard rankings
  • To remember your content preferences and game settings
  • To improve the app's functionality and user experience
  • To analyze usage patterns through Google Analytics (anonymized data only)
  • To show advertisements (e.g. via Google AdMob), including personalised ads where you have given consent

3. Data Storage and Retention

3.1 Local Storage

Information stored locally on your device (name, nationality, preferences) remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you complete a quiz. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or app data.

3.2 Server Storage

Quiz results and leaderboard data are stored on our servers using Upstash Redis, a secure cloud database service. This data is automatically deleted after 2 days from the date of collection. We do not retain quiz results or leaderboard data beyond this period.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use Upstash Redis for data storage, Google Analytics for usage analytics, and Google AdMob for advertising (when ads are shown). These services process data on our behalf under their respective privacy terms.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
  • Public Leaderboard: Your display name, nationality, and quiz scores are displayed on the public leaderboard, which is visible to all users of the app.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the information we have about you (stored locally on your device)
  • Modify or delete your locally stored information at any time
  • Clear your app data or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored information
  • Opt out of Google Analytics by adjusting your device or browser settings
  • Accept or reject personalised ads when we show the consent message (EEA, UK, Switzerland), or manage ad preferences in your device settings (e.g. limit ad tracking / reset advertising ID)

Since quiz results are automatically deleted after 2 days, there is no need to request deletion of server-stored data. However, if you have concerns, please contact us using the information provided below.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.
